WFC-NCMIC Louis Sportelli Research Awards

The Scott Haldeman Award for Outstanding Research: All abstracts accepted for a platform presentation and that have not been previously published will be entered automatically to compete for this prestigious $10,000 award. The award will be judged on the content of the accepted abstract and its platform presentation. Winning authors will be free to publish their work in the journal of their choice with the expectation that the award be acknowledged in the published paper. For more details, check back here after being notified of your abstract’s acceptance status (by November 15). This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.

NCMIC New Investigator Award: All abstracts accepted for a platform presentation, that have not been previously published and whose first author is an early career researcher are eligible to compete for this $5,000 award. Early Career Researcher is defined here as a first author enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program or within 3 years of obtaining either of these graduate degrees. To apply for this award, proof of early career status must be sent to the Research Committee Chair prior to March 1, 2019. The award will be judged on the content of the accepted abstract and its platform presentation. Winning authors will be free to publish their work in the journal of their choice with the expectation that the award be acknowledged in the published paper. For more details, check back here after being notified of your abstract’s acceptance status (by November 15, 2018). This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.

NCMIC/JMPT Research Awards: First and Second Prize: Authors having an accepted abstract are eligible to compete for these awards totaling $7,500 and $5,000 respectively. If the abstract is accepted, interested authors must submit a full paper to the congress organizers in the format of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT). Award winners will submit their papers for consideration of publication in the JMPT. For more details, check back here after being notified of your abstract’s acceptance status (by November 15, 2018). This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.

IBCE Poster Awards: All accepted posters are eligible and automatically entered in the competition which includes such categories as best poster, best new investigator poster and best geographic posters.

ECCRE Research Awards

NOTE: The information below is pending approval from the ECCRE Board of Directors. Updates to be provided as available.

The ECCRE Research Award of EUR 7,500

This prize cannot be applied for, but will be assigned to an international research person or institution which have done an outstanding and unique contribution to the research within the chiropractic field in Europe.

Any ECU member can nominate candidates for this prize. The ECCRE board will decide which candidate that shall be assigned.

Best Presented Research Award of EUR 3,500

This prize will be assigned to a researcher who has submitted an original abstract to the ECU conference at a given year. It will be with a focus on the presentation performance on research projects of an excellent quality.

The Academic Advisory Committee will evaluate the original research abstracts and the presentation at the conference.

The ECCRE Young Researcher of the Year Award of EUR 2,000

This prize will be assigned to a young researcher who has submitted abstract to the ECU conference at a given year. There will be a focus on a person who is an early carrier researcher with a talent and dedication to pursue a full-time research carrier within the chiropractic profession. The research should be of excellent quality.

Criteria to be named young:

1)      Not necessarily followed a formal research carrier, produced less than 10 peer reviewed articles

2)      Maximum 3 years after having been assigned the Ph.D. degree (shall eventually be documented)

3)      Has a goal of working as a full-time researcher

The Academic Advisory Committee will evaluate the original research abstracts done by young researchers at the Conference.
